Three-fourths extinction

by admin on Jun.24, 2009, under The Environment, The Future

OK, so three-fourths extinction isn’t really, by definition, extinction. But imagine three-fourths of the people in your neighborhood suddenly gone — vanished; three-fourths of the population of your town or city — gone. Wonderful, not only will you be able to finally find a freakin’ parking spot, but it would suddenly become very quiet, at least I’d imagine it would. I don’t know, sounds kind of appealing to me. But wait, you say, that means three-fourths less e-mails and three-fourths less TV channels, too! What do we do now? Imagine: three-fourths less friends and three-fourths less Web sites; three-fourths less women (or men) to choose from!?! Oh, no!

Well, look at it this way: that’s three-fourths less decisions to make, too.

The operative keyword moving forward: three-fourths extinction. We’re headed there. But I’ll tell you something, I wouldn’t really want to be part of the one-fourth that survived. I couldn’t live without the three-fourths less status updates on Facebook. Damn.

Keep the faith.
